This is where the wolves spend most of their time. It is a beautiful, rolling grassland, rich in prey. However, their is a reason that it is mostly grass and shrubs. Fires frequently ravage the Plains, which is why the Palosia Pack Camp sits on a plauteau.

Phoebe crouched in the grasses like a lioness, waiting maliciously for her prey. Her wicked amber eyes were narrowed like a snake and her silky silver tail swayed impatiently behind her. First off, her slow, good-for-nothing, brother Erebus was being a hog and taking his time getting here. She should have him reported to the alpha and not let him eat for 3 days. Than, second off, the deer seemed to sense her presence, and kept shifting away. She let out a low growl, her heart burning with hate, directed mainly at her brother. Criminal intentions flowed through her mind, but they were all in vain. She knew her happy-go-lucky brother would never be offended by anything she did to him. Thats what she couldn't take the most, what drove the young silver she wolf to the brinks of insanity - wolves that remained unaffected by her. She turned her head over her shoulder, looking for the unmistakable black pelt of her brother. But she didn't see him. She smelled him. She stood frozen for a moment confused. She turned back around, an 'oh no... he is not' expression plastered clearly on her face. She saw her brother waddle up over the hill the overlooked where the deer grazed. Up wind.
The deer quickly caught smell of him, and bolted. Phoebe let out an aggravated cry, and then turned to her brother, who nonchalantly walked over to her. She galloped toward him, aggravated hyperventilating breathing from her mouth. She stopped short only inches from her brothers innocent face. It took ever fiber in her being not to let herself crash into him, and tear his flanks. "Do you realize how stupid you are?" she shouted at him, her voice drenched in fury. "You spooked a herd, by doing something blind PUPs know what not to do. You came from flippin' UP WIND!" she shouted. The deer were so far away by now, she couldn't even hear their thundering footsteps.

Erebus cocked his head, listening patiently to her. Oh boy, he had really done it this time. Fortunately for him, he was the born with the gift of speed, and as long as she couldn't catch him, he was in the safe zone. He felt his sisters hot breath on his face, her devilish amber eyes locked with his silver ones. He waited for her to finish her rant, and pausing before opening his own jaws to speak. "I'm sorry Phoebe, I just couldn't find you. The grass is so high here, and I was upwind so I couldn't smell you," he half whimpered. Showing weakness and fear to another wolf wasn't a good strategy, but he knew his sister well, and was working out an angle for himself to play by. He glanced in the direction that the deer ran off to. "Why don't we walk after them. Than we will still have our energy when we find them, and they will be pooped," he said, offering a solution. He wagged his tail a little, making himself look as innocent as possible.
His quietly gloated in the periphery of his mind. It seemed to be working, him persuading Phoebe it was all right. Of course, a few time he had felt safe way too soon, and it lead to some of the worst, most painful periods of his life. He barely refrained from shivering, remember that icy cold pond. He pushed the belittling memory into the back of his mind. Erebus stood unmoving, his silky black fur waving in the chilly breeze, waiting for his sisters verdict. He tensed his muscles, getting ready bolt if Phoebe lost his temper. He was already planning out in his mind where to run to if she got mad...
