The tenative plot:
Several wolves of Gliu (The Pits of Eternal Despair) have been resurrected by the Ventriloquist (me XD). They appealed to her, and she decided to place one in every one of the packs, reborn has pups. If they change, and become good wolves, when they die they go to Harporia (The Clouds of Snow). However, some of the Alphas and Alphesses are not happy about it, and have had visons of what is to come if the resurrected wolves turn to the Dark again (or to the Gold, if they were reborn into the Dark Lands).
Ranks:
These are the base rankings of wolves. Each pack may have different views on them. Some may have more or less ranks.
Color Coding:
The Great Alphess (Administrator) Rank
High (Mod) Rank
Medium-High Rank
Medium Rank
Low Rank
Ambiguous Rank
The Great Alphess (Ventriloquist) - Basically, the Goddess of the packs. She is played by Ventriloquist, and only Ventriloquist. Also the Administrator.
Alpha - The male leader (King) of a pack. Has complete authority over his pack. May rule with his mate, the Alphess. Matriarchal packs do not have an Alpha, but may still have a mate.
Alphess - The female leader (Queen) of the pack. Has complete authority over her pack. May her mate, the Alpha. Patriarchal packs do not have an Alphess, but may still have a mate.
Heir(ess) - The next Alpha or Alphess of a pack, chosen or the pup of the current Alpha or Alphess. If born into it, usually the oldest pup.
Betas - Only report to the Alpha or Alphess, high-ranking (nobles). Can be born into or chosen for their position. May be other pups of an Alpha or Alphess.
Doctor - The pack's healer. In a large pack, may have two or more full doctors.
Doctor's Assistant - Basically the apprentices of the Doctors. Are in training to become full Doctors.
Warriors - The main fighters of a pack. Larger and bulkier then the hunters. No "apprentices" per say, but a Warrior may take a younger Warrior under their wing.
Hunters - The, well, hunters. Slimmer and lighter then the Warriors, they catch prey for the pack. No "apprentices" per say, but a Warrior may take a younger Warrior under their wing.
Ladies - Nursing and pregnant mothers, or females that are not very, ah, well-equipped to be hunters, warriors, or doctors. Although, they can be females that are usually one of those ranks. They are very important to the survival of packs. Well, packs that do not have strict rules against pups of anyone other then the Alphess, and those females can be exiled or their pups killed or adopted. So explains their very much ambiguous status among packs.
Pups - Ah, yes, the pups. Those cut little things that run around the heels of the Ladies. They are very important to the survival of the pack. However, if it is a pack that does not allow pregnancy among females other then the Alphess or high-ranked wolves, they can be killed, or adopted. Still, they are considered highly important. All wolves are considered pups until at least a year of age, longer in some cases.
Pariahs - The lowest of the low, they can either be pack members who have really screwed up, or former lone wolves who have joined the pack. Their ranks can change.
Elders - The old wolves who have past their working years. They still have their memories and intellect, though (well, most of them at least . . .), so they are pretty important. But do to their tendency to up and die, they are only a Medium Rank wolf, unless they were Alpha(ess) or a Beta. (Generally, if a wolf makes it to Elder status, they either have not been a Pariah for a long time, or never have been.)
Loners - Wolves who have been either born without or exiled from their packs. Some packs take in strong loners.
The Lands and Packs of Gold:
The Forest of Golden Apples (Alio Pack) -
The Plain of Golden Horses (Palosia Pack) -
The Mountains of Golden Midnight (Ulin) -
The Lands and Packs of Dark:
The Moor of Dark Souls (Niniao Pack) -
The Beaches of Dark Water (Klam Pack) -
