One of the most treacherous areas of the Alio pack's territory, many wolves have lost their lives here, many of who's bodies still are buried deep underneath the snow & permafrost... The mountains receive there name for two prominent reasons. For one, the mountains border the west of Alio territory, shielding them from some of the pack's whom they share a western border with. However, the winds are strong and reach even over the highest peaks, causing a somewhat interesting spray of mist & snow, enough to hide the peaks from a casual viewer's eyes. They have been eroding away in some places from the frequent battering of the high winds, causing caves and caverns to form. These are used for shelter by travelers & loners alike wandering the territory when one of the frequent infamous blizzards of Zephyr strike to reek havoc. No wolf can survive on these mountains on a daily basis, what with the weather, along with high lack of prey & water. It is always covered in snow, and when some of it melts in the spring, the resulting water provides renewal of the rivers of Alio, filling them to there banks. The pine trees here are somehow cut down occasionally for the near by Winter Camp for 'firewood'. It also serves as a strategic location in warfare for Alio, for they are much more used to it than many more of there neighbors. In general, while treacherous and dangerous, the water it provides, the shelter and strategic potential serves as a valuable asset to the Alio pack. Just don't think about taking a winter hike here anytime soon.
