Snow rose from her den, yawning, she pulled her legs straight. She stretched her back prepared to tell the pack. She pushed her way through the lichen. Greeting members as she passed, she bunched her muscles at the base of the gray rock. Springing to her speaking point, she looked out and around, gazing at the members of her pack.

She threw her head back and released a howl, a summoning howl. She brought her rump down onto the rock and waited for the pack to gather.
