Some of these rules date back to the pack's founding, and some of them are much more recent, in place only because of the current alphess, Altaira. (See bio for more info.) But whatever the case, these rules are the law of the land in Alio and all, are carefully and heavily enforced. Let it be known through, a punishment and breaking rules leaves a mark on your reputation. And for those who dear try to harm the pack itself, or break down its proud standing, as in Altaira's words themselves, Let no one take our freedom, our land, our food, or our apples without a fight, for we won our freedom long ago, and we've kept it since then too. And because the wolf who doesn't know order, doesn't know rebellion, either.
The Rules For The Alio Pack:
1. Under no circumstances, even the most desperate, will a wolf, foreign or Alio, use, eat, steal or destroy the Sacred Golden Apples unless directed by the Alphess/Alpha of Alio. The Herbalists or Healers of Alio may ask the Alphess/Alpha for use of the apples in extreme medical cases requiring the apples renown healing properties. This is of/a Capital/Top offense punishment class.
2. Wolves of foreign history/descent/birth whom are still loyal to there pack and enemies of Alio are not welcomed here in the Forest of Golden Apples. Nor are banished/evicted. Loners found wandering the forest and not seeking to join will be asked if they wish to join, and if not, reaction and action depends on given reason from said loner. This does not apply to loners looking to join, Ambassadors or diplomats of wolves from allied packs and wolves of allied packs. (Though its a good idea to stay of Alio land anyhow unless your an Ambassador/diplomat or loner/foreigner seeking to join.)
3. Disobeying a direct command form the Alpha/alphess or the council is not only ill-advised, it will be dealt with like any other rule broken. Primarily, an alphas/alphesses word is Law.
4. Fighting is not aloud within Alio, especially during breeding season among males. not only is it very disruptful to pack life, it leaves no room for advancing and fighting the true enemies.
5. Wolves are to be treated with hospitality, no butts except if there an enemy of the pack. All pack members are to be treated with respect and fairness. This is one rule if broken, will have you very much in trouble with most of the Alio pack, as it an offense to a majority o f there beliefs to not treat another as equal.
6. A deformed pup is not a horrible thing in the eyes of Alio. They are tolerated and given the help needed to survive, if possible. If it is clear they will never be able to survive or function normally, they will be kept in the camp there whole lives most likely. In certain cases, mute, deaf or blind wolves can go hunting or such, though it at there own risk. Other disabilities will be discussed among the council and the alphess/alpha to see what limits and safety needs are needed by the wolf with the deformity.
7. NEVER are pups to be killed, deformed or not. This not only is unmoral, but ridding the pack of its life blood is one of the ultimate betrayal to the pack of Alio. This is the one offense the death punishment was issued for, way back when.
8. Pack members are allowed to go to the courting grounds, but they must have been in the courting process for at least a moon (Month) and must have permission from the alpha/alphess to be mates. They may be divorced if both parties want so and they gain permission from the council and leader. Never, except for the alpha/alphess, will a wolf be allowed more than one mate.
9. One must have the proper skills for a certain rank to attain that rank. Ranks are gained during hunts and certain tests (In the case of Healers, Scribes, and some other ranks) and are chosen by the alphess.
10. No pups without permission from the alphess/alpha, any pups found without permission will be taken from there respective parents and parents will receive a punishment.
11. Killing except in battle with the enemy, is not only exclusively prohibited, but will result in an A class punishment.
12. For one to be a full member, they must have taken the Oath of Allegiance.
13. If two wolves can't handle something or such, a trial will result where the alphess/alpha will be the judge.
Note that Punishments are based on the rule and range from Class A punishment (The Highest possible including Death Sentence to Permanent Banishment) to Class C punishment (Most minor, set time of disownment, ETC...)
